Clayton boasts one of the nicest selections for shopping while providing that old-fashioned customer service other places only wish they could offer. Plantation Pointe has two shopping plaza  within a mile from it's entrance.

Schools

Ranked among the best in the state, Clayton's schools use a hands-on approach with an emphasis on reading and writing to plant a seed of learning that will last a lifetime. A large day care center and East Clayton Elementary school is just a short distance away from Plantation Pointe.

Industry

           Three of the four largest industries in Johnston County are located in the Clayton area. Bayer, Caterpillar and the Winn-Dixie Distribution Center add an impressive economic base to this quiet corner of western Johnston County. Channel Master, one of the largest manufacturers of antennas in the US is just a short 15 miles east in Smithfield.
